alfie leland was one of those people who always knew what to do. this was not saying that he never rolled with the flow - it was just that, when two roads parted, he'd always know which one to take. when he had to decide whether to go into music or become an architect, he had chosen music in the blink of an eye - not because his passion for music was so much greater than his passion for architecture, he had just listened to... well, not his heart, but something along those lines, and found that the answer was already in there. same went for everything, to get engaged or not had been more than easy, his decision to stay in london rather than go to hollywood took only a blink of an eye, and well, the list went on and on.
but now, it seemed to the world that alfie, for the first time in his life, was experiencing a dilemma. and this was a most curious occasion, mainly because the decision he had to make seemed fairly simpler than some other ones he had been forced to make in his life. however, when examined closely, the decision would reveal its true nature - not easy, on the contrary, fairly hard for someone with alfie's life experience to make. the boy - or the man, considering he was now no less then twenty three years old - had faced some difficult situations in his life. an example would be a six month era when he was cut off by his parents after telling them he wanted to be a musician. he had worked as a taxi driver and slept in his car, and not once did he complain about the whole thing - in fact, most people didn't know about those days. however, these things... love, relationships... in these areas, he was not really experienced. except for his on going - well, thing with freda, and his current engagement, his experience was limited to one night stands, and thus, he had never really cheated on anyone - one had to be a part of an exclusive relationship in order for that to happen, and as the world knew, alfie did not do exclusive relationships. or well, he had not, until recent date.
but, the thing was that, as unexperienced as he might be, alfie knew, without a doubt, what to do. he was going to leave michelle - his fiancé - but what he was going to do about freda ... well, that part was a bit vague. the girl told him she wanted her, and the feeling was mutual, but could he make it work? the last thing he wanted to do was hurt the girl, and he had this feeling he should stay away from her for her sake, but he could not. wasn't it just minutes ago that he had, although he had sworn himself that he would stay away from freda, invited the girl over? well, it was at least clear now that that plan was never going to work.
a muse... even though he had just suggested it, one would not be wrong when saying that freda had been his muse for a long time. so effortlessly fresh was the girl that, you could not help be inspired by it.
"what the fuck are we going to do now?" he asked the brown bloodhound sitting on the couch next to him, looking at him with hungry eyes. the dog let out a small whining noise, and he said, "oh man up ed, she's bring over food. " and it was the very second he has said these words that he heard the soft ringing of the door. " here it goes. " he told himself, and got up to answer the door.
