welcome to our beautiful city. tell us now, how exactly did you end up in sydney ? i moved here for university and to join one of the ballett companies, so far i've only gotten auditions, but i'm doing pretty decent in uni. what is the most importantant thing that happened to you ? uhm, well. gosh, i don't really know. i know i've had a few things that probably should have changd me, made me see the light or whatever but they didn't. i've been in the hospital a couple times but i didn't change anything. i mean, enough so they'd let me and tke me out of counseling but i always kept doing it again. i'm over eighteen now so my parents can't do crap not like they'd care. now, tell us a bit about your background. i'm an only child of two parents who couldn't want less to do with me. i've been dancing since i was seven years old and i'm a fantastic ballerina. i've never been an overacheiver but i've managed to never fall below a 3.5. i moved to sydney the second i turned eighteen though i'd already been making plans, scouting places to live and what not before i hit seventeen and a half. everyone has dreams and plans for the future, and you're surely no exception. tell us a bit about them, if you don't mind. right now i'm just working on getting into a company and my work at the dance studio. of course i have school, but that's really only to keep my allowance from my parents coming in. what is a normal day like for you ? i get up, head straight to my university classes, afterwhich i normally spend the rest of my day teaching at the stuiod, or going on auditions. sometimes both. if i have no classes i'm normally studying or practicing the chief of my day is spent dancing. now, time for the last question. name three things you can't live without ? dance, coffee, my blackberry
hello, wl&c. this is frosty the snowman and i'm partying with the easter bunny. i'll be using leighton meester as a play by for this character. oh, by the way, you can reach me via msn: elevatorloveletter@live.com. and well, that's about it !
WAS SHE OBSESSING? yeah, no doubt about it. the dress was fairly simple, it took a lot of fabric because that's just what wedding dresses liked to do, but it was a pretty simple design. there really wasn't much more she could do to it – excepting, of course, adding the last skirt to it - but the prospect of her mother being in the same room with it. scrutinizing it, ready to nit pick at the first loose bead or dropped stitch she saw it had turned briar into a mad woman. that is, madder then she already was. leah had a point, why should she care so much? because my mom's a god. she grumbled, then casting a glance around the room she shook her head. great, now you're answering yourself. all lunacy aside, she did have to admit that she shouldn't have cared what her mom thought. she was really just another person, an amazing designer, but pretty much just another person. a person she was going to try her hardest to avoid, especially since she intended on bringing that douche lord she called a husband. something she had already prepared for, by way of making ezekiel grudgingly promise not to make a scene. still thinking about her step-father made her stomach a little queasy and she sighed, true he hadn't raised a hand to her since she had moved to her dad's but she'd still seen it in his eyes every time her and her mom or bri and him had gotten into a shouting match. three tempers like that just shouldn't spend an excess of about ten minutes together. something she had yet to convince her dad every time he sent them out there for the summer, granted she was sure if she'd given her dad all the particulars on why she'd came to washington to begin with she was pretty sure she and blaine wouldn't have to make the trips or the douche lord would just disappear one day. both options sounded appealing, but mostly she was hoping for them both, him disappearing and no trips to the city ever again – at least no trips to see her mom.
OF COURSE, ONE could only expect so much and negotiating trips from six weeks down to two was only about as much as she could expect. it was a small victory but she'd take it. she returned to pinning with a vengeance, sure, that once she got back into the swing of the project she'd be able to forget her mom and frustrating trips, for the most part. of course it would have been much better if she were getting to cut something, it released amazing amounts of anger, but pinning seemed to be okay, the all to yielding fabric could very easily be her mother. a distant part of her mind screamed it was an unhealthy fantasy and she quickly dropped it. finishing her pinning – thinking instead about how long this last step would take and not of jabbing her mom with straight pins- she returned to her much abused and severely overworked sewing machine. focusing on making the gathering even – something her mother had criticized on a dress leah had worn to the apartment that summer – she tried to ignore blaine as he entered her room, for probably the third time in an hour. until he finally sighed, she let up on the presser foot and dragged her chocolate brown eyes from the tulle and up to him, could i help you with something? she said trying to make her tone stay even, him and her father had been doing a lot to get her to back off the project, to take a break for a day or two. she had the time, she'd be able to finish it no problem, but it just wasn't her to stop like that. she was far from a procrastinator, she had a project and she liked to get it done. it's not like it was really work to her, she enjoyed all the sewing – minus all the jabbing herself with pins. if she were smarter she would probably drag it out, and she did have a pretty good rhythm going with the dress in the beginning. her excitement had caused of flurry of work, but then she'd cooled down on it, because she didn't want to overwork herself on it. however the im with conversation with gabriel had derailed her schedule and she'd thrown herself back into it with a vengeance. do you plan on eating? he offered with a tone that suggested he'd had to repeat the question because she had been gone in he thoughts. unlike you and dad i don't need to eat every five minutes... she offered, then sighing at his look, i had breakfast... then maria brought me a pb & j like an hour ago? i'm fine.
IN A MANIC sort of way, but fine nonetheless. her brother opened his mouth to protest like he'd done many times before, though she was pretty familiar with this lecture already, when you leave, shit the door and try not to bother me again unless the house is on fire or the aliens are finally taking you back. she teased with a smile, actually, no, only about the house being on fire. just be sure to write once they've taken you... an expectant look replaced her teasing one, bye. i love you. don't trip over that bolt of fabric. she said, gesturing at a bolt of golden fabric near the door, which was out of the way for most people, but for the alexandar twins it would still be dangerous. she let the door shut before she returned to gathering the fabric, pausing only to push the glasses she wore up the bridge of her nose or brush the too long bangs away from her face. she was pretty sure she'd never be more happy to see then end of a project then this.
FINALLY DONE GATHERING the final skirt for the dress, she removed the thin white fabric from the table and turned back to the mannequin that wore the dress and began to pin it on. after this was pinned she was going to take a break. something she'd said many times but it'd never really come to fruition. never had a knock on her door been more grating to her nerves, blaine, for the love of god, ther- though her brothers voice didn't meet her eyes and she turned on the door, a smile already replacing the irritation, she hated to admit how well she knew that voice. the smile dimmed a little at his greeting, yeah, she'd been pretty absent. the wedding clothes had eaten up a lot of her time that she'd spent with her friends and him. not that she'd really gotten oodles of time with him anyways with her school and his practices. well, it's almost done... she said, looking back to it, then to him before she put the pins she'd been holding back into the plastic box and walked over to him, i literally have one thing left to do, then nai can try it on and we can fix anything that might be wrong. which there better be nothing wrong because i seriously might burn it. she said with a light chuckle, shaking her head and running a hand through her hair. but enough about the dress? she said, smiling again, what are you here for? not that i'm complaining... she continued, her smile turning to a small grin. yeah, missing out on time with him definitely had to be in the top two downsides of her obsessing about her mom coming and this dress.
